Have you watched Disney Moana?
I bet you have done it. Ever since the release of Moana, back in 2016, my little family are always thinking and considering this series to be among our all-time favorite Disney films.
I always mesmerized by the movie’s renowned visual effects artists, especially when the scene where the treacherous ocean and breathtaking Polynesian landscapes appeared on the screen (you’re going to see me with teary eyes, lol). Besides that, my personal favorite scene from Moana—where Mother Nature saves Moana and Maui. When I witnessed those famous scenes, I could still feel the hairs on the back of my neck standing up and I had goosebumps all over my arms.
I am aware that there are numerous websites with Moana birthday party ideas available. But since my friend recently told me thank, she and her husband want to host a Moana party for her daughter’s sixth birthday, I thought I would show you some of my party ideas that I made specially for her (and you can take it as inspiration) In the hopes of helping to inspire people, especially for those who wants to avoid a big production cost when hosting a party. Anyway, let’s start this blog with FUN things!
Disney Moana Themed Birthday Invitations
The ocean is calling! Is your young Polynesian princess will soon celebrate her big day? Have you found a fantastic invitation design? These could work in wonders for you if you haven’t yet found a decent one. Can’t we see it right now? But before that occurs, everyone, please get a cup of coffee, take a seat, and enjoy this site!
This delightful invitation perfectly captures the essence of a sunny garden day, brimming with flowers, bees, and joyful memories. So, it’s great month for you to host a summer party to celebration your little kiddo, mom.
The invitation’s fun design is guaranteed to make people smile and giggle. A festive banner of flags in pastel shades of pink, yellow, and green, adorned with chevron and polka-dot patterns, waves cheerfully at the top. Surrounding this are lush green palm leaves and bright hibiscus flowers, invoking the spirit of the islands and setting the perfect tropical tone.
The idea is authentically enhanced by the inclusion of “Moana” characters. On one side, the bold and daring Moana smiles and stands poised, ready to take on a new adventure. Her classic attire and necklace are readily identifiable, making a direct connection between the invitation and the movie. The devoted and endearing pet pig of Moana, Pua, emerges on the other side with a joyful face and a festive party hat, perfectly encapsulating the fun and excitement the celebration offers.

Disney Moana Themed Party Décor
Whether it’s a birthday party of any kind or one appropriate for your young princess or prince, decorations are essential! Whether your party is outside or indoors with a Moana theme, you want your guests to feel as though they have entered Motunui from the moment they arrive.
Attract guests into the birthday area with a variety of island decoration such as tableware and leaf garlands. Not to mention the need to decorate any additional tables you may have set up! Using grass table skirts will wow your visitors by giving them the impression that they are going to be dining with Maui himself!
Backdrop/Photobooth
Make sure you have a place for displaying a banner with picture of Moana and Maui there, because, let’s face it, you’ll want to capture your child’s big day on camera. To ensure that you and your visitors can snap photos that you’ll want to show your friends, these are both excellent options—whether you’d like one with a baby Moana or a simple blue background with homemade decorations surrounding it.
Pineapple Palm Tree Serving Tray
Any type of island-inspired party needs tropical fruit, but a Moana theme party idea is especially in need of it. This amazing pineapple palm tree serving dish was inspired by my friend, Anna, and it would be ideal as a centerpiece for holding other food. Add more fruits to this personalized platter for your visitors to eat, such as melons, strawberries, and grapes.
Moana Themed Party Activities
The kids will be excited for the Moana theme party activities now that their friends have arrived. We can help you with both DIY activities ideas!
Coloring Session
Bowling
By buying a bowling set and adding these prints to the front, you can give children the opportunity to try and bring down the Kakamora, just like Moana and Maui did. For an even more unique touch, you could also use these prints to decorate coconut cups.
Moana Watch Party
Of course, watching the movie is a must-to-do for any Moana-themed birthday celebration! As you prepare to present gifts, put Moana on Netflix and allow the kids to watch the film. After a long day of playing on the island, this is also a great way to wind down the celebration for the young Montuni guests!
Moana Party Food and Drink Ideas
A necessity at any party is food! Delight your guests with themed snacks based on Moana, including some of the treats I personally got for my own kid’s birthday as well as my sister-in-law’s baby recent party below.
Moana Theme Mocktails
While we’re talking about fruit, the parents and children attending the Moana-themed birthday party will love this drink. This pleasant and enjoyable drink is composed with coconut water, pineapple juice, and strawberries.
To make everyone feel as though they are on a tropical island—even if it’s only in the comfort of your own home—you can even serve them in coconut-shaped cups that you can get from your neighborhood party supply store and top with little umbrellas!
