Now, once you’ve sent out those adorable invitations, the next step is figuring out how to bring the Pokemon world to life. For us, the party took place right in our living room, and let me just say—it looked like Pikachu himself had thrown up all over the place (in the best way possible). The cake layers wouldn’t stick together, and my red frosting turned out more like an orangey-pink. Jackson, ever the optimist, came into the kitchen, took one look at my sad cake, and said, “It’s okay, Mom. It can be Ditto pretending to be a Poké Ball!” Bless his little heart.
